Our story
Built one honest job at a time
Simon Pellow founded Total Heating Company in 2008 with one van and a simple idea: quote what the house actually needs, then install it the way the manufacturer intended. Seventeen years later that's still the whole business plan.
We work almost entirely on referral. That means we never need to sell you a system you don't need, and it means a bad install would cost us far more than it earns. It also means our schedule fills up in cold snaps — so if you're planning a replacement, earlier is always better.
As the leading contractor, Simon runs the site walkthrough, sets the equipment selection, and signs off on commissioning readings before a job is called finished.

Load calculations, static pressure readings and duct inspection come before any equipment recommendation.
Licensed and insured
Fully licensed, bonded and insured in Washington State. Permits pulled on every install that needs one.
Treat the house like ours
Drop cloths, shoe covers, clean crawlspaces and old equipment hauled away. You shouldn't have to clean up after us.
Stand behind the work
Manufacturer warranties registered for you, plus our own labor warranty on installations.

Seventeen years in South Pierce County
2008
The first truck
Simon Pellow leaves a large regional contractor and starts Total Heating Company out of a single van in Graham.
2012
Heat pumps take over
We shift the majority of our installations to heat pumps as Western Washington utilities begin rebating them heavily.
2016
Maintenance plans launch
Ongoing service agreements begin, giving customers priority scheduling and documented annual inspections.
2021
Cooling becomes essential
After the heat dome, add-on air conditioning and ductless cooling become half of our summer workload.

Still owner-operated
A small, deliberately local crew serving South Pierce County — with Simon still on the schedule every week.
